Brad Huffman
Brad Huffman is a nominated Cincinnati-based film director, singer, songwriter, and composer whose talent and passion flow through every note and frame. With years of experience in both music and film, Brad has developed a unique dark melodic style that captivates listeners and viewers alike. His love for music began early, and over the years, he became skilled in a variety of instruments—from piano and guitar to synth, harmonica, and more. His musical influences span from the '50s to the '90s, drawing from a wide range of genres that allow his sound to remain fresh, timeless, and ever-evolving.
Brad’s filmmaking is rooted in a desire to explore the darker, more complex sides of human nature. With each project, he seeks to unravel the raw emotions that define us—those hidden, often unsettling truths. His 2025 film CHOKE, co-directed with Zach Pike, dives deep into the themes of control, silence, and survival, showcasing his fearless approach to bold, emotional storytelling. It’s the kind of work that challenges its viewers, leaving them with a lingering feeling long after the screen goes dark.
As both a director and musician, Brad finds that the two worlds often intertwine, creating a powerful synergy that fuels his creative process. His music, much like his films, is steeped in emotion and atmosphere, drawing the listener into an immersive experience. Whether scoring his films or performing as an artist, Brad's voice and unique style create a sound that resonates deeply, evoking a range of emotions. Whether you're seeking the nostalgia of oldies or the thrill of something new, Brad’s captivating sound will take you anywhere.
For Brad, film and music aren’t separate entities—they are two ways of exploring the same raw, emotional core. His goal is simple: to create work that connects on a visceral level, that challenges expectations, and that leaves a lasting impact.
"I have to say, I love the score of your film CHOKE. When I watched the trailer, I played it back a couple of times. I'm a big fan of atmosphere and music in films because we all know they create a huge part of it. Putting you on file! Very intense! I don't know how to describe it, but it hits."
Watched CHOKE (2024) last night, an indie thriller by filmmakers Bradley Keith Huffman and Zach Pike from Hamilton, Ohio. It follows a 911 operator, played by Jessica Buck, who receives a call from the afterlife and dives into a paranormal mystery in Oaktown.
The dark, David Lynch-style score sets a chilling atmosphere. The quirky characters, especially Martha (one of the operators) and the janitor, gave off Twin Peaks vibes. Jessica Buck and Matt Hudson had great on-screen chemistry. The emotional ending and haunting paranormal scenes, with the perfect blend of music and visuals, kept me on edge. Enjoyed it!
