I’m thrilled to share that my film Choke has been nominated for Best Horror Comedy at the 2025 International Horror Hotel Film Festival in Cleveland!
This festival is known for celebrating bold and innovative genre films, so being recognized in this category is a huge honor. The festival will take place June 19–22, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Cleveland Airport, with the awards ceremony on Saturday, June 21, from 5 PM to 7 PM.
I’m especially proud that Choke was also recognized for its music and story—both elements we put a lot of heart into.
This year’s lineup includes some wild and creative entries like Zombie Strain, Lethal Gay Butcher of Terror, and Swipe Right, all competing in the horror-comedy genre. In past years, winners have included Welcome to Kittytown, Puppet Killer, Curse of the Werehuahua, and shorts like Highway to Hell and Dead, but Whatever.
If you’re attending, it’s an awesome chance to connect with fellow filmmakers and horror fans. The event features screenings, lectures, a convention, and networking parties—it’s a full celebration of the genre.
Huge thanks to Horror Hotel for the recognition!
