Reflecting on CHOKE and Our FOX19 Feature

Reflecting on Choke and Our FOX19 Feature

It’s been a little while now since Choke premiered and was featured on FOX19 News—and I’ve had some time to reflect on just how meaningful that moment was.

Seeing our film highlighted on a major local news station in a segment called "New local film 'Choke' premieres this weekend" was surreal. It aired back in September 2024 as part of their “Kickin’ it with Ken” series, and it was one of those full-circle moments that hit hard. As a Hamilton High grad, collaborating with Zach Pike (also from Hamilton) to bring this story to life felt like something special from the start—but getting that kind of recognition really underscored how far we’ve come.

Choke is a horror/comedy/thriller that follows Leanne, a 911 dispatcher who receives a call from beyond the grave. That call unravels into something much deeper—a supernatural mystery rooted in small-town tension and fear. Looking back, I’m still incredibly proud of what we pulled off, especially with the support of our local community.

Grateful for everyone who believed in this project. It’s a reminder that no matter where you're from, telling stories that matter—stories with a voice and a pulse—can lead to something real.
